scouted. are once again proud to have been engaged exclusively to recruit for of one of the most exciting and active Retirement Living & Aged Care Developers in Victoria. This organisation has significant capital at its disposal and is well and truly into an aggressive 10-year growth strategy. With several new acquisitions in mainly urban infill areas and approximately four new Development sites in various stages of Construction, this role is a critical hire for the Australian Developments team.
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to oversee the financial aspects of various development projects including civil and infrastructure works, townhouses, commercial buildings and larger apartment complexes. This role is essential in ensuring that all stages of construction are met within budget and that commercial risks are proactively managed. Key Responsibilities
- Project Feasibility & Budget Control: Develop and implement cost control techniques, ensuring alignment with capital expenditure and providing regular reporting to Senior Management.
- Value Engineering & Benchmarking: Drive value management and engineering initiatives to meet financial objectives during project design phases.
- Bank Funding: Compile monthly drawdown reports, financial statements, and other required documents for lender approval. Liaise with Finance to prepare bank funding applications.
- Procurement Management: Oversee procurement processes, develop strategies, and maintain contract integrity to minimize variations.
- Contract Administration: Ensure standardization of contract practices, manage project costs, and oversee contract closeout in a timely manner.
- Monthly Reporting: Support reporting processes with budget updates, performance data, and financial forecasts.
- Leadership & Development: Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a collaborative, safety-conscious team culture.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably BSc Quantity Surveying or Finance.
- Experience: 10-15 years in project finance or quantity surveying with experience across civil, commercial, and residential builds.
- Skills: Strong planning, prioritizing, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Judgment: Sound commercial acumen with effective problem-solving skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), CostX, TM1, and other relevant software.
- Mindset: Positive, proactive, and safety-oriented team player.
