About The Role
As a passionate HSEQ professional with experience in civil construction, you will be the safety expert for a defined region and drive the culture by providing advice, coaching and support to all relevant stakeholders. In addition, you will be:
- Contributing to design /delivery of HSEQ strategy and execution, moving the organisation towards recognised best practice
- Develop, implement and monitor processes and programs to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all workers
- Actively promote, coach and be a recognised champion of workplace safety to employees, sub-contractors, and visitors
- Contribute to maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure that all elements of the system are applicable, functional, and compliant with OFSC, Client, and Regulatory requirements (where relevant) and up to date
- Assist with the start-up of new projects including the development of project risk assessments
- Review, update and support the implementation of SWMS, EMPS etc.
- Conduct health and safety audits and inspections
- Lead/ conduct incident investigations
About you:
- Diploma in WHS or equivalent preferred
- Three years’ safety experience in a stand- alone role
- Experience within the civil construction industry
- Demonstrated understanding and interpretation of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS ISO 45001, AS/NZS ISO 9001 and AS/NZS 14001
- Self-motivated and can demonstrate initiative
- Excellent engagement, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations and reporting
- Exposure to working within a Federal Safety Accredited business, will be highly regarded
