About the role:
Develops the design scope, technical review and approval of engineering design documentation in order to achieve project outcomes and coordinates improvements in Technical Standards and Engineering Service Provider performance
Duties includes:
- Applies an understanding of Civil & Structural Engineering related terminology, theory, key processes and activities.
- review and sign off on all civil / structural related blueprint changes as the single point of accountability and seek assistance from other disciplines as required during design reviews.
- Employs specific/relevant discipline engineering expertise and leadership to meet technical expectations.
- Conducts engineering tasks, verifies construction methodologies and advises on engineering decisions for projects in alignment with Project/Construction/Commissioning Engineering Standards.
- Identifies, engages and work closely with Project Managers and other internal stakeholders.
- Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses the risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Develops design scopes of work and obtains / reviews proposals from engineering contractors.
- Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages design through ESP (engineering service providers) as per project scope.
- Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly.
- Engages the capabilities of the organisation as required.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
- Provides technical expertise in responding to Technical queries during design and construction and escalates to relevant SME’s when required.
- Coordinates during closure of projects with final as-built design documentation and closeout in SPO.
What you'll need to succeed:
- An overriding commitment to safety and risk management;
- Bachelor of Engineering – Civil & Structural;
- Relevant industry experience;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders effectively;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Proficiency and confidence to present in both written and oral formats.
- Valid Australian C class drivers license.
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screening;
- Full Australian working rights, residing in Perth.
