About the role
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading project teams as part of our Energy Transition portfolio, with a focus on delivering Solar/BESS solutions in both buildings and utility-scale projects. This is a leadership position ideal for someone who is ready to manage a team and has a strong desire to contribute to the growing field of renewable energy.
With a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Technical Consultant in the Solar/BESS realm, we are searching for someone who not only has a solid technical background but is also a well-networked individual within the renewable energy sector. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including approximately 40% project leadership and business development, 40% technical delivery, and 20% people management.

Responsibilities, competencies, familiarities
Responsible for leading and delivering concept design, detailed design, tender and construction documentation, and witnessing testing & commissioning for solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system solutions.
Responsible for conducting desktop and onsite audits, surveys, reviews and inspections as per our project requirements.
Competent with relevant Australian Standards such as AS/NZS 3000, 4777 and 5033.
Competent with the supply authority application process for inverter-based energy systems, and the various Australian DNSPs’ Technical Rules.
Familiar with project siting constraints, such as environmental, social, and governance considerations for developments.
Familiar with grid connection constraints, such as system strength, inertia, and power systems engineering studies to demonstrate steady-state / dynamic / transient stability for advanced inverter systems.
High-voltage distribution and substation design experience are desirable.
To be successful for this role you'll need the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Commerce; or similar
Have commercial solar/battery/energy storage/renewables (DER) experience
Be well-connected in the renewable energy sector and confident in business development
Interact and engage with our clients as a professional consultant, providing an appropriate level of service.
Use written professional communication to deliver our project requirements such as email, reports, technical drawings, memos and specifications.
Apply technical skills and commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly considered, personally reviewed, and delivered on time.
Be accurate, diligent and professional.
Demonstrate emotional intelligence, respect, open-mindedness, positivity, and adaptability.
Participate in and present at meetings with clients and other consultants.
Assist and contribute to the optimisation of processes and templates within our Energy Team.
Demonstrate a strong awareness of both commercial and technical aspects of potential projects
Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to apply technical expertise in a way which balances commercial profitability, QA adherence, risk management and the morale of others.
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Ability to use initiative and think outside the box.
Positive, can-do attitude.
We have a preference for someone holding (or working towards) chartered status eligible for recognition on the National Engineering Registration.
