We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team and play a key role in managing and coordinating mining construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This role involves tracking project progress, conducting risk assessments, and generating comprehensive performance reports. You will collaborate closely with engineers, site supervisors, and project teams to ensure timely project execution, while also leading schedule reviews and workshops. Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and compliance with mining and environmental regulations is essential.

- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for mining construction activities, ensuring accurate timelines.
- Oversee portfolio management to ensure the alignment of multiple projects with broader organizational objectives and strategic goals.
- Track project progress, identify deviations or delays, and implement corrective measures to maintain schedules.
- Collaborate with engineers, site supervisors, and project teams to ensure that daily activities are aligned with the overall project timeline and objectives.
- Generate comprehensive reports on project performance, including schedule variances and earned value analysis, and propose adjustments to mitigate project risks.
- Understand and able to produce probability risk assessments and cost report.
- Ensure that all planning activities comply with mining and environmental regulations and meet safety standards.
- Conduct critical path analysis, perform "What-if" scenario planning, and monitor project milestones to assess impacts of potential changes.
- Lead schedule workshops, participate in risk reviews, and engage in change management processes to ensure project agility.
- Implement and monitor Earned Value Management (EVM), evaluate Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and report on trends to stakeholders.
- Produce and distribute accurate and timely weekly and month-end project reports.
- Lead schedule reviews, conduct resource allocation analyses, and oversee schedule recovery planning when necessary.
- Provide mentorship to junior planners, ensuring adherence to best practices in project planning and execution.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Planner in mining or construction projects, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including Earned Value Management (EVM), Cost Performance Index (CPI), and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of mining and environmental regulations, as well as safety standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside engineers, site supervisors, and project teams.
- Ability to mentor junior planners and ensure best practices in project planning.
- PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
