THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Group Manager, Contracts & Procurement this role will provide support with the day to day management and ongoing development of the Contracts and Procurement group to ensure timely contractual and commercial advice and service is delivered within the Company.
The Contracts and Procurement Principal is responsible for the development of systems and processes, as well as delivering as a Senior Category Lead for the department and managing cost and risk outcomes whilst driving positive contractor behaviour to ensure compliance with agreed outcomes and deliver value for money to all areas of the business.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train station.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and executing major/high-risk contracts, in consultation with stakeholders, especially; operations and projects which include engineering and construction packages.
- Providing assistance with the leadership, shaping and modelling desired behaviours within the Contracts and Procurement team.
- Establishing and monitoring benchmarks for the teams’ performance and success.
- Overseeing and engaging in tendering, negotiation, tender evaluation and awarding of contracts to deliver appropriate commercial outcomes for Pilbara Minerals
- Leading a category and delivering cradle-to-grave packages as required
- Ensuring contractual arrangements deliver value for money and protect the companies interests and scopes of work are capable of delivering contractual and operational outcomes.
- Establishing and maintaining contract management processes, procedures and KPI’s for sourcing, contract execution and ongoing compliance including the provision of necessary documentation to ensure the integrity of the contract management process.
- Working to positively overcome new obstacles to achieve results that set high standards.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on contractor and service provider performance so as to develop contractor capability knowledge within Pilbara Minerals,
- Assisting with the identification and implementation of opportunities to reduce supply expenditure through innovative sourcing strategies.
- In consultation with internal stakeholders, drive the selection of appropriate contract and procurement strategies within Pilbara Minerals
ABOUT YOU:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in contracts and procurement, supply chain management, business or related discipline
- At least 5 years experience in a contracts Lead position or higher and ideally within the mining and resources industry
- A good understanding of contract law and general law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional negotiation skills
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to deliver a consistently high standard of work with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated leadership skills, yet a self-starter with a willing to “roll up sleeves” when needed
