The Role:
The focus for this role would be on installation, commissioning and calibrating XRF (X-ray fluorescence) machines across various sites in Western Australia. Preventative maintenance work and responding to breakdown calls is a big part of the role, due to the time critical nature of the sorts of work the machines are utilised for.
This role therefore involves extensive travel, and some on-call/weekend work would take place (with additional remuneration based on days away). However, they try hard to ensure most sits in the workweek, which offers a different lifestyle than typical travel intensive FIFO.
The Ideal Candidate:
Due to the nature of the work, a strong experience in fault finding down to a component level is necessary.
The following are not strictly necessary but would be advantageous:
- Prior field service experience
- WA Radiation Safety Licence
- XRF, XRD or neutron analysis experience
This role would really suit someone with a strong electro-mechanical skillset, a passion for finding solutions, and working closely with customers to get them a great result. Specific knowledge of XRF instruments is not required, just a keen desire to learn.
What's On Offer:
As there are a wide range of potential skill sets, experience and education, a competitive base salary will be offered based on these. To compensate for travel, there is also an additional allowance per day when travelling (which is a major component of the role).
Besides the monetary, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be shared with the right candidate. If you are someone who thrives off continuously learning and improving their electro-mechanical skills, as well as someone who loves a challenge, there's lots to keep things interesting!
