THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the electrical and instrumentation maintenance functions to ensure all safety and maintenance targets are met in compliance with all statutory regulations, company standards, guidelines and procedures by:
- Providing an effective and responsive maintenance function to plant operations by executing all the scheduled electrical maintenance work and responding to operations requirements;
- Ensuring any changes to electrical equipment, components and control systems are performed in compliance with Australian Electrical Standards and the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations;
- Developing and training the Electrical/Instrumentation Technicians to ensure the safety of personnel and the efficient operation and maintenance of plant equipment at a minimum cost; and
- Promoting continuous improvement and a preventative maintenance culture in all facets of the operation
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8:6; 7;7 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure work performed by Electrical Trades supervised meets the requirements of the Electricity Act 1945, Electricity Regulations 1947, Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991, Mines Safety Inspection Act 1994 (MSIA) and the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (MSIR).
- Manage the execution of maintenance plan via the daily allocation of resources to tasks.
- Supervise and provide technical support the execution of maintenance and commissioning activities across the mine infrastructure, including the fixed processing plant, mine equipment and the mine accommodation camp.
- Ensure that scheduled PM’s are completed as per the schedule and that the tasks are completed satisfactorily.
- Ensure that work is completed in line with PLS permit to work and safe working procedures.
- Ensure that any further works identified during planned maintenance are communicated back to the Maintenance Planners for inclusion in future weekly schedules.
- Manage daily activities in PRONTO including raising purchases orders, requisitioning stock, raising and closing work orders.
- Demonstrate an understanding of PLS safety and environmental policies and maintain an understanding of the main principles.
- Provide leave coverage with the Maintenance Superintendent.
- Assist with development and implement the Maintenance Department’s resources development and succession plan.
- Provide clear instructions to E & I Technicians regarding job allocation, job details, work methods timeframes and allow for adequate feedback.
- Regularly liaising with Production Supervisors detailing changing priorities and additional equipment that is to be repaired or modified.
- Distribute accurate written and verbal information to the Maintenance Planner(s) that ensures they are adequately informed of changes or requirements towards the maintenance plans and schedules.
- Regularly updating the Maintenance Superintendent on long and short-term issues.

ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in supervisory role.
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance on Fixed Plant Processing Facility.
- 10-15 years electrical experience.
- Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
- Systematic planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems.
