About The Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced
Construction Manager with marine experience to join the Groote Eylandt Wharf Remediation Project in the Northern Territory. Working back-to-back on a 2 weeks on, 1 Week off roster with the current construction manager you will be overseeing the construction work of a unique project including the demolition and removal of a damaged wharf head, replacement of piles and fabricated structures and the reconstruction of the wharf to an export operational ready condition.
A strong understanding of meeting engineering, scheduling costs, industrial relations, safety, environment, and quality standards is required. Previous experience maintaining good client relationships and leading a multi-disciplinary team to meet defined project targets will be essential.
Successful Candidate Will Have The Ability To
- Promote total job safety and environmental awareness by employees, subcontractors, and all persons in the job vicinity.
- Ensure that safe, environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented, and that sufficient plant and equipment is made available, properly operated, and maintained, to facilitate proper access and enable any operation to be carried out safely.
- Organise and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules to complete the works on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities.
- Continual interaction and on-site contact with subordinate staff and, where necessary, weekly employees, to ensure efficient and productive field activities.
- Ensure all activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes, and standards, which form part of the contract.
- Meet scheduling costs, industrial relations, safety, environment, and quality standards.
- Maintain good client relationships and lead a multi-disciplinary team to meet defined project targets.
About You
- Tertiary degree or equivalent in a Construction Management or Engineering related discipline.
- Prior experience in a similar role working on a marine project.
- Substantial engineering experience in construction with leadership responsibilities.
- Safety focused with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
- Proven record in planning, organising, and leading a diverse labour force.
- Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, clear communication verbal and written.
- Manages timeframes, cost conscious and achievement driven.
