The Senior Construction Advisor plays an important client-side role in supporting the successful delivery of the Cross River Rail project’s underground station works helping to ensure construction works are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with technical standards. With a focus on maintaining robust relationships with our construction partners, Independent Certifiers, and key internal stakeholders, the Senior Construction Advisor is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on contractor performance and progress. This role involves actively participating in area-specific meetings, coordinating with various CRRDA departments (including Project Controls, Safety, and Quality), and facilitating the prompt resolution of technical and quality-related issues.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. About The Role
The Senior Construction Advisor plays an important client-side role in supporting the successful delivery of the Cross River Rail project's underground station works helping to ensure construction works are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with technical standards. With a focus on maintaining robust relationships with our construction partners, Independent Certifiers, and key internal stakeholders, the Senior Construction Advisor is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on contractor performance and progress.
This role involves actively participating in area-specific meetings, coordinating with various CRRDA departments (including Project Controls, Safety, and Quality), and facilitating the prompt resolution of technical and quality-related issues.
This opportunity is offered as a contract until August 2026 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a safety-first culture ensuring activities are compliant with safety requirements and escalating risks and issues as required.
- Attend and proactively contribute to relevant area related meetings and workshops.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of ongoing works and upcoming milestones.
- Collaborate with technical resources to support the resolution of technical issues.
- Collaborate with Contractors and Independent Certifier to resolve Requests For Information, Non Conformance Reports, and other technical and quality related matters
- Provide project management support including safety, quality, time and risk.
- Conduct regular onsite presence, monitoring station works of multiple disciplines ensuring works are performed to plan, safely and to quality standards including civil works, permanent structures, building services, facade, fitout and external works.
- Undertake program analysis, review and reporting including supporting weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting.
- Work closely with contractor and internal stakeholders for prompt and accurate communication of issues.
About You
- Experience in supporting the delivery of construction projects to agreed timelines, budget and specifications.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the resolution of technical issues and construction constraints.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical and hands on approach to completion of tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create fit for purpose reporting, correspondence and other documentation.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, Trade qualifications or equivalent industry experience is desirable.
