The Role:
You will be in a client facing role delivering to a major mining organisation. You will be embedded as the EPCM Project Lead and be accountable for the safe and timely delivery of the contract obligations against the key business metrics.
Whilst providing overall direction of the project and the leadership required - you should also be happy being the face of the company to the client. You will lead the project from DFS through to execution and be experienced on $1bn+ projects - with a strong civils background
The usual PD requirements go without saying:
Meeting the project objectives in the agreed time/budget.
- Leadership, direction & guidance to senior managers.
- Overall responsibility for management of all staff within the project.
- Responsible for the overall performance including cost, schedule, HSEQ.
- Planning & governance in line with Client requirements.
- Strategic alignment for both the mining organisation and the EPCM.
- The main Interface for senior representatives of the Client, consultants and contractors.
- Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of the project
- Communication between the company management & key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are on track.
The Candidate - YOU!:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Certified Project Management Professional status or member of equivalent institution
- Successfully led numerous complex, large-scale EPCM or client side (owner managed) across a range of clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
- 20+ years' experience in delivering fully coordinated, multi-disciplinary Project Management and Construction Management projects as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director
- Well-versed with respect to delivering a fully coordinated project using the latest engineering design & collaboration tools.
- I would consider candidates from a non mining background if extensive heavy infrastructure/civils background with strong stakeholder/client facing skills/experience.
