About the role
The Estimator/Building Supervisor is the first point of contact for our clients, their customer and our sub-contractors. The role involves carrying out the estimation for reinstatement works to both domestic and commercial buildings damaged caused by insurable events. The role is also responsible for organising and supervising trades involved in reinstatement works. The role is essential to the success of the claim and remains the point of contact for our clients, their customer and our sub-contractors.

Skills and experience:
- Strong technical building knowledge with a qualified Carpentry Trade background preferred. Knowledge of BCA and Australian standards
- Minimum 3 years trade/ Building Supervision experience
- Strong time and organisational management skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Proven customer service and communication skills, must be empathetic to the needs of the customer
- Insurance industry building experience is considered an advantage but not essential.
- Intermediate computer skills including experience in Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook), Microsoft Project and using a tablet pc on the go with intermediate typing skills.
- The ability to assist with Estimating of jobs will be an advantage.

Role and responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessment and quotations for property damaged by insurable events, such as flood, fire etc.
- Manage construction projects to meet safety, cost, time and quality objectives.
- Ensuring scopes of works are accurate prior to works commencing.
- Liaise with insurance company and insured.
- Engage and manage trades to meet time and budget criteria.
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
Occasional interstate travel to other offices, to assist in the increased workloads following major events may be required.
This role will require excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on ability to influence business and external.
