About the role
The purpose of the Technician Processing role is to complete metallurgical test work, assisting with refinery operations, conducting elemental analysis on samples and in general, contributing to the safety, cost effective and most efficient recovery operation at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.
The position will be on an 8/6 (10.5 – hour day) roaster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario with NO FIFO eligibility. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Analyse samples to determine percentage of metals content using prescribed testing methods (acid digestion, AA, Fire Assay).
- Prepare samples for analysis (crush, pulverize, split, riffle).
- Produce timely and accurate test results.
- Assume the duties of the refiner such as tabling, electro winning, changing crucibles and pouring gold.
- Perform grinding, carbon activity, leach, flotation and other metallurgical test work on a routine basis.
- Initiate, conduct testing, and monitor new products and methods to improve recovery and to ensure most efficient operation of process plant.
- Complete metallurgical balance sheets and reports.
- Track carbon fines and preparing deliveries.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

About you
- As the Technician Processing, you’re require to have Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- A background in assaying or laboratory work is preferred
- It is also important that you have / can demonstrate:
Physical fitness and ability to perform manually intensive work for long periods of time, and able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- A Valid Class G Driver’s License (an asset)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good numeric and analytical ability
- Competent computer skills with proficiency using spreadsheets and databases
- Contributes to overall success of the team
- Maintains confidentiality in all company dealings
- Competent communication skills and capable of accurately following directions
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
- Self-motivated with experience working in an industrial setting
