We are seeking an Associate with expertise in Major Projects & Infrastructure to join this esteemed firm. This is a pivotal role that offers the opportunity to work on landmark infrastructure deals and public-private partnerships (PPPs) across sectors such as transport, energy, and telecommunications.
As an Associate, you will be involved in advising clients on project structuring, risk allocation, and regulatory frameworks. You’ll play a critical role in drafting and negotiating project documentation, including construction contracts, financing agreements, and concession arrangements, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the legal aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects, including contract negotiation, project financing, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft and negotiate project agreements such as EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and concession deeds.
- Provide strategic legal advice on public-private partnerships (PPPs) and other project delivery models.
- Assist in structuring transactions, ensuring effective risk management and allocation.
- Conduct due diligence on infrastructure transactions and project financing deals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, financial advisors, and consultants.
- Support clients in navigating regulatory requirements and liaising with government bodies.
- Advise on dispute resolution and risk mitigation strategies related to project delivery.
- Stay informed of developments in infrastructure law and best practices in project management.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, providing clear, commercially focused legal solutions.
Qualifications:
- Admitted to practice in Australia.
- 3+ years post-qualification experience in infrastructure, construction, or major projects.
- Strong knowledge of Australian infrastructure law, including PPPs and project finance.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex project agreements.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-value transactions under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and client management skills, with a commercial mindset.
