FIP Electrical (NSW) Pty Ltd is a well-established Electrical Engineering and Electrical Contracting Company, servicing the needs of countless commercial and industrial projects throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia for over 30 years and is continually growing and expanding.
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Adviser to join our senior management team. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) for Safety, Quality, and Environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the business complies with legislation and industry standards, managing HSEQ processes and documentation, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the Integrated Management System accredited for Safety, Quality, and Environment.
- Oversee and monitor workplace aspects related to Health, Safety, Quality, and the Environment (HSEQ).
- Ensure all documentation and work practices comply with current legislation and standards.
- Manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
- Manage external company accreditations such as Pegasus, CM3, Hammertech, and TAO.
- Manage the order and supply of safety inventory including PPE supplies and equipment and uniform.
- Manage the required training and competencies for workers
- Manage and monitor apprentice supervision and training
- Act as a point of reference for all matters related to HSEQ legislation and standards.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Essential:
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety (or the ability to attain).
- General Construction Induction Card – White Card.
- Electrical trade background.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to groups.
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional manner when interacting with unions, clients, and workers.
- Desirable:
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction sector.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
- Experience in internal auditing or holding an audit certification.
- Experience with return-to-work programs or possessing a Coordinator Certificate.
- Familiarity with software such as Simpro, Tradogram, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365.
- Demonstrated Understanding of national legislative frameworks and regulations.
