The Superintendent of Technology Operation will be responsible for overseeing the Technology Operation Services Team in mine Technology service technicians to ensure effective and efficient site-based support for the execution of planned and unplanned Operational Technology work to priority and schedule. This role requires focus and leadership to coordinate with other stakeholders (including site visits) to reduce unplanned work efforts while improving the outcomes of planned work execution. Provide effective and efficient technical support to site operations regarding all technology and services.
This is a permanent full-time position that operates on a FIFO 8:6;4:3;4;3 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Reporting to the IT Manager, Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide relevant information to managers, supervisors, co-workers, and employees (including in meetings, written communications, e-mail, via telecommunications and in person).
- Handle complaints, negotiate disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, to establish preferred business outcomes in and across teams.
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships within own team and across teams and individuals.
- Provide guidance and direction to teams and individuals regarding outcomes, including goal setting, progress and achievement.
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among teams.

- Technology Operation Support Services
- Manage and ensure optimal operation and availability of related IT/OT technology infrastructure including but not limited to;
- Onboard technology equipment
- Network & Communication assets
- Fibre Optic Services
- Facilities and supporting services.
- Direct and organize the work of the Technology Operation System Engineers and Technology Mine Technicians to ensure appropriate system support and maintenance tasks are executed efficiently to maximize up time of equipment.
- Responsible for championing the raising of improvements to achieve service fault reduction, planning effectiveness and work execution process, instructions and standards and outcomes.
- Focus on work practice definition and conformance to required work practices and standards as required by planning and operational teams.
- Manage ongoing Technology Operation Services, work scheduling (short term), execution and issue resolution.
- Execute work to plan, schedule and quality as specified work planning teams (including technology support and project delivery).
- Respond to service interruption (unplanned) requests as defined and agreed by response levels and priority.
- Escalate and support Perth based teams in the resolution of network and Server/Storage based incidents and related faults ensuring fast service resolution.
- Complete appropriate Root Causes Analysis process and documentation to identify actions to mitigate fault re-occurrence, and drive implementation of agreed actions.
- Follow Pilbara Minerals Technology methodologies including request, change and problem management.
- Ensure risk assessments are performance for area of responsibility, and associated risks are captured.
ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, leading a team of 5 to 10 people
- Minimum 1-2 years’ IT OT project experience in an IT Services or Mining Company
- Mining application support experience (Fleet Management, process control, exploration… )
- In Pit Wireless Mesh Network management and support
- Technically minded and able to effectively lead and communicate with IT and OT Engineers on a deep technical level.
- Tertiary qualification in the form of a IT, Computer Science or Engineering Degree
- Microsoft Certified Professional
- Possession of a current Class C Driver’s License
- Practical experience in the design, implementation, and operation of technology services to support changing business requirements
- Mining industry experience with a number of these years being spent in a FIFO role
- 5 years’ experience supporting Operation technology and assets in a 24/7 production environment.
- Excellent problem and analytical-solving skills
- Ability to perform detailed technical troubleshooting of operational system issues and summarise for action by vendor support teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
- High level of problem-solving and analytical solving skills
- Self-motivated and driven with a “can do” attitude
