THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for a motivated Fleet Management System (FMS) Specialist to join our Technology Operation department.
Reporting to the Superintendent Technology Operation, the FMS Specialist is an exciting newly created role, dedicated to delivering technical support and expertise to the Mining, Mine Control and Technical Services departments, ensuring the Fleet Management System is consistently operational and optimally configured to enhance mining operations.
The initial primary responsibilities will involve overseeing and advising on the technical implementation of the MineStar fleet management system configuration, to ensure alignment with business needs. Upon commissioning, the focus will then be on providing technical support and product expertise, to ensure the Fleet Management System is consistently operational and optimally configured to enhance mining operations.
This is a permanent position, on an 4/3 FIFO roster (days only) based at our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara WA.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing operation of the new Fleet Management System to ensure high availability and correct system operation.
- Provide direct user support and operation advice to Mine Control and the Technology Operation department.
- Support hardware and software installation, configuration, and testing.
- Manage vendor support.
- Develop Training and Work Instruction material relating to the operation and maintenance of the Fleet Management System.
- Lead functional testing of updates to ensure system continuity and ensure business risks are identified and assessed prior to deployment to production.
- Monitor product roadmap and lifecycle plans, ensuring business needs and expectations are managed.
- Collaborate with the Mine Technology team to develop and monitor scheduled equipment servicing and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Proactively lead the monitoring and analysis of FMS performance, driving system enhancements in line with evolving business needs.
ABOUT YOU
As an experienced FMS Specialist, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree/Trade certificate in a related field (Mining/Computer Science/Electronics) or equivalent work experience.
- Completion of MineStar vendor training and/or practical experience managing technology implementation or upgrade projects in mining settings, highly desirable.
- Advanced skills in operating and troubleshooting Fleet Management Systems, particularly MineStar, as well as familiarity with hardware and software configuration, installation, and maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication abilities to clearly convey information to various stakeholders, including Mine Control staff, technology teams, and non-technical users.
- Current WA Driver’s Licence: HR preferred.
