THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for a motivated Maintenance Superintendent - Shutdowns to join our talented and dedicated Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Execution Manager and overseeing an establishing team of Shutdown Coordinators, this role will be responsible for the execution of the Ngungaju Plant shutdowns and will have the entire Shutdown Execution team including all contractors as direct reporting line during the execution phase of the plant Shutdowns.
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8:6; 4:3 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Promote best practice maintenance culture, by focusing on continuous improvement, efficient work flow practice, executing tasks as planned, ensuring accountability and celebrating success.
- Contribute to optimising and implementing effective Shutdown execution strategies for equipment maintained to achieve target availability and throughput.
- Review maintenance practices and optimise where appropriate.
- Ensure maintenance cost targets are met.
- Preparation and presentation of maintenance reports.
- Execute maintenance schedules and ensure maintenance activities are recorded consistently and accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide direct leadership and guidance to the Shutdown Coordinators, Supervisors and trades personnel, including personnel performance review and development.
- Ensure all Shutdown workshop facilities and equipment is maintained and in good working order.
- Providing clear instructions to Shutdown Coordinators regarding job allocation, job details, work methods timeframes and allow for adequate feedback.
- Demonstrate an understanding of PLS safety and environmental policies and maintain an understanding of the main principles.
- Lead by example in demonstrating a hands-on approach to resolving issues allocating priority to emergent work orders, in line with core business needs.
ABOUT YOU
- 5-10 yrs. mining industry experience in Maintenance / Shutdown Execution in a leadership position.
- Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes
- Systematic planning skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Strong commitment to safety and the environment
- Shutdown Scheduling
- PRONTO experience
- MS Office & Project experience
- WA C class driver’s license
- Relevant trade or engineering qualification.
