JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior/ Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC (West) business. This is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to the recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to a new and significant brownfields engineering opportunity with a major player in the LNG industry, which includes sustainability projects such as CCS.
Wood "Operations" delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Southeast Asia, and Kazakhstan.
You will be reporting directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer and working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, across some of world's most technically challenging brownfields Oil & Gas projects for Wood's Electrical Engineering group.

QUALIFICATIONS
You must have full Australian work rights and reside in Australia to be considered for this role at this time. Suitably qualified in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution, ideally you will have a minimum of 7 + years of proven experience in either, Mining and Minerals and or O&G brownfields engineering EPCM sector in Australia.
In addition, you will have:
- Engineering office design experience with experience in either some / all of the following:
- power generation
- power distribution (MV & LV)
- equipment specification (i.e. Power Transformers, MV & LV motors and drives, MV & LV switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing)
- Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)
- Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Be prepared to undertake site visits either onshore / offshore
- Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
- A "solutions mindset" and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
