Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct
Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role:
Supervise the site installation activities and provide required coordination with the civil works
Qualifications:
- Tertiary Qualifications or related discipline such as, High school diploma, technical school or college credits preferred.
- White Card
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Mechanical installations, testing and commissioning a site and similar roles Hydro -Experience is a plus
- Solid experience of project site management capability and working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards, including installation and sequencing procedures, as well as testing and commissioning procedures

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Support EM Site Engineers and Civil Construction Managers in all aspects of operations and job fulfillment
- Identify opportunities for improvement at site and in daily operation
- Works collaboratively with other trade surveyors to gather quantities, measurements, information, as needed and directed
- Supervise EM Site Installations in coordination with site Engineers.
- Keep accurate, organized and complete field notes
- Communicate with EM Site Engineers and EM subcontractor’s staff on daily basis
- Ensure that crews comply daily with FGJV and client specific safety guidelines and provide required safety documentation and records
- Review meetings to monitor progress of various projects according to target schedule, report to EM site Engineers.
- Follow- up proper implementation of site quality control and quality management plans
- Ensure that all plant (Mechanical) installations adhere to the approved method statement and ITP’s
- IReport non-confirming installations /activities to EM Engineers Assist Engineers in case Site construction schedule update and in reporting installed EM quantities
- Assist the Engineer in the report of work volume and construction progress.
- Follow up the proper implementation of lifting plan during handling (loading and unloading) of EM components at the yard and at the final mechanical installation location and heavy lifting
- Coordinate utilization of permanent and construction cranes with the Civil construction team and EM Subcontractors as per schedule to ensure efficient and smooth construction/installation.
- Assist the Engineer in the surveillance of inspection of delivered EM components, equipment availability/ delivery on time, particular attention for equipment in relation interface works between EM Subcontractors and FGJV Construction
- Regularly perform field safety audits, jobsite inspections, and develop site safety/logistics plans
- Ensures proper paperwork has been submitted
- Supervises interfaces between EM Subcontractor and FGJV Construction & Plant team including utility workers, facility operators, and contractors.
- Maintains databases which track and support operations
- Partners closely with the area engineering department to ensure construction projects within the area of responsibility meet company specifications and are properly documented and completed in accordance with established timelines
- Maintains close surveillance over site operations while performing company work to ensure proper use of manpower, skills, equipment and facilities
