Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for the management and implementation of a section of works on a construction project to ensure time, cost, quality, safety and contractual targets are achieved. Responsible to develop and implement procedures to achieve quality, safety, timely production and compliance with budgets.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
- WhiteCard
- C Class Driver’s License
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Ensure QA is being implemented at their work site, assist Site Engineer with their understanding and implementation of QA with the supervisor.
- Develop construction documentation for work area (CAP, WPA, CMS).
- Develop/ carry out safety risk assessments with the site team.
- Develop ITPs
- Coordinate the design with the technical team for site team use.
- Develop project program (Initial + 6WLA).
- Assist with administering the conditions of subcontracts on site.
- Assist with the review of subcontractor claims in their work area.
- Assist with development SOWs with supervisors/ superintendent
- Provide technical review of subcontract packages for the procurement team.
- Assist with the remedial action and close out of NCRs with the QA team.
- Ensure project site has all required HSE documentation and approvals.
- Coordinate site support teams with the site construction team.
- Procurement of materials related to their direct work area per the design drawings.
- Ensure tunnel procedures and being followed by the supervisor and site team.
- Ensure permits to tunnel are up to date and present on site.
- Ensure the development, in collaboration with the Supervisors, of a detailed programme for day to day activities, look ahead programme and daily program changes, including resources required and material deliveries;
- Develop better ways to deliver the Project works, including improved construction methodologies, alternative designs and alternative materials selection;
- Ensure data for shift reports is reviewed and opportunities identified, for improvement to methods and reoccurring issues/delays.
- Monitor progress of the planned works and regularly review the delay allowance status;
- Coordinate resources to ensure the Project works progress in conjunction with other Section works;
- Ensure the tracking of off-site procurement items against programme;
- Actively participate in the application of resources to generate a target program based on the method, with a target completion that precedes the contracted completion by a suitable delay allowance;
- Communicate the program to all relevant internal parties;
- Oversee the tracking of off-site procurement items against program
- Develop “One Team” culture so that the site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams;
- Coordinate and ensure that Graduate and Site Engineers are clear what is expected of them and provide regular feedback to ensure effective performance;
- Lead development of Graduate and Site Engineers to ensure development of their capability by identifying and addressing development needs of direct team members;
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and external parties, which are managed within the guidelines of the project code of ethics.
