About VicReturn
VicReturn is a not-for-profit entity that has been appointed as Scheme Coordinator of “CDS Vic” to administer the Victorian CDS, as announced by the Victorian Government. VicReturn is supported by its Members comprising Lion, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and Asahi Beverages, who each have significant experience in managing container deposit schemes across Australia and are proud to be involved in CDS Vic to help create a circular economy for beverage containers and importantly reduce litter.
Our Purpose
VicReturn is an exciting new business, tasked with the oversight and administration of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (“CDS Vic”), which launched in November 2023. At VicReturn we are motivated to help keep beverage containers out of landfill, creating clean streams of recycled materials that help to build our Circular Economy by promoting product stewardship of all Beverage Suppliers in Victoria.
As the appointed Scheme Coordinator for CDS Vic, we work with government and partners to oversee the building of a large-scale container recycling network which will play a key role in transforming Victoria’s waste and recycling system. Through a 10c refund for every eligible container returned we will encourage Victorians to collect and recycle their beverage containers, making a positive difference to our people, environment and local industry.
