Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 500 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.
AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and are committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.
About the Opportunity
AGIG is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Manager Commercial Analysis to lead economic modelling and commercial analysis. This role will support financial decision-making for operational and business development teams, ensuring sound economic evaluation of business opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead economic modelling and analysis of business development projects.
- Present investment cases to executive management and shareholders.
- Manage and co-ordinate key commercial relationships with gas users and producers.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing key project agreements.
- Prepare revenue and cost forecasts for corporate budgeting and project appraisal.
- Analyse contract terms to identify value for negotiations.
- Represent AGIG at industry meetings and functions.
- Stay informed of developments in the external economic environment, particularly in the domestic Australian gas market.
- Support business strategy by identifying potential revenue opportunities.
- Promote and monitor compliance with AGIG’s HSEQ policies, fostering a safe and respectful workplace.
About You
- Industry experience in commercial analysis, business development or related fields.
- Extensive experience in economic modelling and opportunity analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- Proven ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in working with and modifying complex Excel models.
- Solid understanding of gas transportation or energy supply contracts.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical or commercial discipline.
- Familiarity with energy markets, especially the domestic Australian gas market.
