THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to manage and deliver complex ICT projects for a key government sector client. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong strategic planning and stakeholder management skills to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale government initiatives.
NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and deliver complex ICT projects, ensuring all deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate detailed project plans and schedules in alignment with the agency’s project management framework.
- Oversee project design, governance arrangements, and operational integration.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-agency and inter-jurisdictional partners.
- Provide strategic planning for long-term project initiatives and offer high-level advice to stakeholders and the executive team.
- Research, review, and evaluate projects within the relevant area and prepare reports for executive and ministerial briefs.
- Plan, manage, and monitor financial budgets, procurement, contracts, and resource allocation.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring that project risks are properly escalated and addressed with appropriate strategies.
- Ensure the quality and performance of project deliverables meet the required standards and client needs.
- Drive innovation and lead change management initiatives aligned with the agency’s strategic goals.
- Represent the agency in external forums and advocate on its behalf.
Mandatory Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering large and complex ICT projects, particularly those related to whole-of-government capabilities, digital identity, or myGov systems.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
- Formal certifications in project management methodologies such as Prince2, Agile, etc.
- NV1 Security Clearance is a strict requirement for this role.
Weighted Criteria:
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to support successful delivery.
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices and data management to effectively oversee the technical aspects of projects.
- Demonstrated capability in engaging and managing relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, vendors, and end-users.
- Experience in navigating complex change management requirements and leading teams through change initiatives.
Eligibility:
- Must hold an active NV1 Security Clearance.
