Details: Major Projects Canberra (MPC) have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader to join the Directorate as the Deputy Director General (DDG).

The specific responsibilities of the DDG include:
- Major Projects Canberra has direct accountability for four major projects – the Canberra Hospital Expansion, Light Rail Stage 2, CIT Campus Woden, the Canberra Theatre Redevelopment and the Northside Hospital Project
- The DDG will have managerial responsibility for three or four of these major projects. The Project Director of each major project assigned to the DDG will report directly to the DDG.
Reporting to the Director General, the Deputy Director General is a key position within MPC that is expected to work collaboratively and respectfully with other executives, staff and advisors within MPC, with officials across the broader ACTPS, and with other stakeholders inside and outside of the ACT Government.
Qualifications / Requirements
Mandatory:
- The position requires substantial experience in construction responsibilities of large scale, complex infrastructure projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a construction, engineering, project management, commercial or legal discipline is required.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the ACT Government or other State Government procurement and delivery processes would be highly regarded.
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $420,384 - $437,249 depending on the current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $374,784.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
