Site Manager will collaborate effectively with trade contractors at the Northcrest site to ensure coordination of trades, maintain the construction schedule, and achieve high-quality workmanship that aligns with overall project goals.
Project Coordination and Operations
- Coordinate onsite activities according to priorities set by the Project Manager.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager for effective planning and management of ongoing site operations.
- Identify areas of risk and opportunities, reporting matters as they arise in accordance with company procedures.
- Develop, implement, and monitor construction programs.
- Implement management procedures to monitor, record, and verify the delivery of goods and services.
- Assist in the selection of subcontractors and the letting of subcontracts in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Overall coordination of subcontractors and suppliers, and coordinate material procurement in advance of construction works.
- Assess plant and labour resource requirements for projects and communicate recommendations to the Project Manager.
- Promote the company’s positive image at all times.
Safety and Resource Management
- Ensure the safety and well-being of DCOH’ construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers by providing a safe working environment.
- Complete construction activities on schedule with the aim of achieving no safety or industrial incidents.
- Ensure sufficient manpower and resources on site to achieve required productivity.
- Monitor compliance with project plans and delegate responsibilities to the project team.
- Regularly monitor staff performance and report to management as applicable.
Quality Management Duties
- Allocate project staff to perform inspection duties and ensure non-conformance is reported.
- Ensure non-conformance is addressed within the required timeframe and that remedial solutions are implemented.
- Review inspection reports and initiate any required actions.
- Ensure subcontractors fulfill their quality system obligations and attend meetings to discuss quality issues.
- Identify and document quality system problems and assist with updating the Project Quality Plan.
- Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans, Project Forms, and Checklists.
- Liaise with the quality assurance representative from the client and assist in auditing suppliers and subcontractors.
Professional Conduct and Leadership
- Serve as a daily point of contact with Client Representatives and ensure professional conduct at all times.
- Lead by example as the project leader for the team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within and outside DCOH.
Skills and Qualifications
- With relevant management skills and understanding of construction materials and methods including commercial functions.
- Minimum of 5 years in estimating, administration and site management
- Understanding of quality, safety and environmental matters
- Willing to undertake further training as required
