About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
As a Completions Coordinator at Beveridge to Albury, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion and handover of construction projects. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all activities related to the final stages of a project, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and documentation are completed to the highest standards.
In this role, you will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that all necessary inspections, tests, and certifications are completed in a timely manner. You will develop and maintain comprehensive completion plans, track progress, and address any issues or delays that may arise.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
Project Description
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Coordinate and manage all activities related to the completion and handover of construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive completion plans, outlining all necessary tasks, inspections, tests, and certifications required for project closeout.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely completion of all project deliverables, including equipment, systems, and documentation.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure that all completed work meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Track and monitor progress of completion activities, identifying any issues or delays and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to coordinate and schedule final inspections, tests, and certifications, ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained and recorded.
- Coordinate the resolution of any outstanding defects or punch-list items, ensuring that they are addressed and closed out prior to project handover.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all completion activities, documentation, and approvals.
- Provide regular updates to project teams and management on the status of completion activities, highlighting any potential risks or issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of completion processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing best practices.
- Implement as systems thinking approach to coordinating role deliverables with the objective of facilitating the timely cross-function coordination, audit and reporting processes
- Monitor and communicate quality standards on the project
- Understand compliance and reporting procedures and processes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of completion processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing best practices.
- Coordinate the development of asset owner & maintenance responsibilities as part of the ongoing design development process through the production of asset allocation demarcation drawings, register and associated land acquisition plans
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of project completion processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to project completion and handover.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy, ensuring that all completion activities, documentation, and deliverables are of the highest quality.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, ensuring that all completion activities are conducted in accordance with relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
