Core Environmental Projects is an Australian owned professional services company dedicated to providing engineering, scientific, design and construction services related to the assessment, protection and management of the environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically sound Project Engineer to support our landfill operations in Brisbane.
An integral part of this role is to develop solutions to control, fix or prevent environmental problems. The Project Engineer would also contribute to the planning, co-ordination, implementation of rehabilitation and protection strategies.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Conducting fieldwork in compliance with technical standards and client requirements, including construction quality assurance, inspection and verification of environmental protection, remediation, and containment systems.
- Supervision of remediation and construction projects, including performing compliance monitoring, inspections, and providing technical support services.
- Preparing computer models, visual aids and design drawings.
- Assisting senior staff with the design of technological systems and equipment to control and mitigate waste and pollution, evaluate current systems to provide innovative ways to improve existing systems, and use pollution control technology to plan and implement ways to protect the environment.
- Data collection, entry, and assisting senior staff with design, specification, and quality assurance reporting requirements.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Tertiary environmental or civil engineering qualifications.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Willingness to travel intrastate.
- Ability to work independently and within a tight knit team.
- Time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A creative approach to finding solutions.
- Exceptional verbal and professional writing skills.
- A valid Australian Drivers Licence.
Desirable attributes include:
- Basic awareness and experience using AutoCAD 2D and Civil 3D.
- Previous experience working on construction sites, including familiarity implementing health and safety procedures.
