Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Operations Superintendent.
The primary objective of the Operations Superintendent will be to support the Operations Manager in achieving the operational outcome of TKA Vessels. This will be accomplished by providing support to Vessel Managers, and HSEQ functions, under the supervision and Management of the Operations Manager.
Major Responsibilities
· Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
· Develop strong working relationship with key client stakeholders to support seamless management of vessel tasking.
· Support of Vessel Tasking and Operations through working with Vessel Management Teams to ensure appropriate level of stakeholder engagement, procedural development and task supervision.
· Generation and maintenance of Operational Documents, Procedures and Risk Assessments.
· Support the Operations Manager in developing key operational processes, risk assessments and tasking development activities for each vessel.
· Support in incident management, investigations and coordination within Teekay.
· Provide input to Marine operations to support compliance to relevant marine regulations. Including the development/update and distribution of policies and procedures.
· Provide support on continued development of the safety management system, Polaris; in cooperation with QA and HSE Services ensure that navigation standards are maintained onboard of the vessel.
· Provide assistance with day-to-day operational issues as required, supporting the Operations Manager to deliver on the asset management plan and operational requirements for the vessels under management.
· Support the interface between safety and environmental compliance for Defence practices cognisant of TK HSEQ priorities.
· Provide support for Marine operations to support compliance to relevant marine regulations and develop required interface procedures between Teekay and RAN maritime practices.
· Support the Operations Manager in tracking and management of the tasking management process across the TKA Fleet.
· Support the development and maintenance of Vessel Safety Case Documentation supporting operation under a variety of marine regulatory frameworks.
· Other duties as assigned in support of the Operations Manager.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities):
Education & Knowledge Areas
· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in the field of Maritime Operations or equivalent experience.
· At least five years of experience in a sea-going or shore based marine management role.
· Strong understanding of Maritime Operations (i.e. Defence, Navigation, Dynamic Position, Subsea Operations, Lifting Operations)
· Experience in working within Defence or complex maritime environment.
· Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships between team members, stakeholders and clients.
· Ability to coordinate diverse technical experts on issues outside own area of experience and expertise.
· Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner, and to represent Teekay effectively in external forums.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience acting in a Management or leadership role.
· Ability to periodically travel in support of TKA objectives
· Ability to gain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance
