We have partnered exclusively with a leading player in the Australian renewable energy sector specialising in the development, construction, asset management and maintenance of utility scale solar PV and BESS projects across the eastern seaboard in Australia in the search for a Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of the growing project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, BESS, Hydrogen) from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to full operation, ensuring timely and successful execution.
- Manage project execution, including developing plans, managing scope, schedule, and construction risks, with change management processes.
- Provide key input to EPC contracts and other project contracts, including negotiations and managing contractual obligations.
- Lead and manage the project and site teams, including cross-functional members (HSEQ, legal, engineering) and external stakeholders.
- Oversee EPC Contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring project efficiency and cost control, including regular cost reviews.
- Manage external advisors such as the Owners Engineer, and ensure budget adherence and work alignment.
- Ensure construction process compliance with contracts, design specifications, quality, and regulatory standards through regular inspections.
- Conduct site visits and provide regular project status updates, reporting on milestones, risks, and potential roadblocks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as contractors, suppliers, government bodies, and local communities.
- Track project performance metrics (schedule, budget, quality) and ensure adherence to safety, environment, and quality policies.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in delivering large-scale utility projects in Australia, from contract negotiation to project completion.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently report to the Project Head and CEO.
- Skilled in implementing risk management procedures.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Flexible and proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and foresee potential issues.
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on conflict resolution.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams across various projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and the full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Possesses a valid Australian Driver's License and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
