An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Coordinator to join a dynamic team at Seed Heritage.
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be responsible for the accurate technical development, supplier quotation and handover of new product lines within their specified category. Through building strong supplier relationships, you will ensure that you meet internal deadlines with a focus on delivery and quality.
Please note: This is a Fixed Term Contract of 12 Months
The Role
- Collaborate with Designer on new product styles, discussing components that may impact margin or styling.
- Prepare and distribute supplier tech packs with fabrication swatches, embellishments, and references before quotations.
- Fit and measure original samples, create base size measurements, and complete full size range specifications.
- Conduct cost negotiations with suppliers, focusing on target margins and delivery dates.
- Follow and meet seasonal critical path timeframes and maintain accurate production schedules.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure timely development and manufacturing.
- Address product delays, shortages, and overages
- Attend weekly production meetings and communicate key discussion points.
- Arrange and document fitting sessions, ensuring garments meet specifications and communicating necessary changes to suppliers.
- Approve fabric testing and shipment samples, ensuring they meet standards.
- Address quality control issues immediately and communicate findings internally.
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with offshore production.
- Experience with both cut and sew and woven products.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in Production and/or Quality Control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, size specifications, and fitting garments.
- Excellent prioritisation and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Must hold a valid working with children check
