About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking and talented individual to take on the key role of Specialist Platforms and Networks, reporting to the Surface Technology Operations Supervisor. This role is suited to those that have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and are looking for a high paced role with the opportunity to make a difference supporting the Olympic Dam’s Surface Operation, Maintenance and Technology Teams.
This position is being offered on 7 days on 7 days off day shift/night shift roster. FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO and Residential options are available.
Key accountabilities include:
- Support daily technology maintenance execution activities across all critical Technology equipment and networks, including planned and breakdown work.
- Positively influence the technology team culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
- Provide subject matter expertise to support teams to resolve priority issues.
- Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions
- Assist with training of other site personnel as required.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to potential value to the business
- Standardising and simplifying production systems including all critical controls ensuring zero safety, risk, volume, or cost impacts.
- Ensure disruption to operations resulting from network and communication system-based activities are minimised or eliminated.
- Resolve any technical queries from teams, projects and customers
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Background and qualifications in Networks (industrial would be an advantage) and associated equipment and architecture.
- Experience across wireless and wired networks, including the Cisco and Cambium hardware ranges, and experience in data centre/server management and support is highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to a schedule and manage workloads to deliver key outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Ability to translate user and business requirements into secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure solution architecture solutions
- Assist with testing, deploying and commissioning quality technology infrastructure.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Be a team player that can build effective working relationships within your own team and external customers
