About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking and talented individual to take on the key role of Specialist in Industrial Communications Reporting to the Mine Technology Operations Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing professional to work with a high-performance team supporting Underground Operation, Maintenance and Technology Teams. This position is being offered on 7 days on 7 days off day shift/night shift roster. FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO/BIBO and Residential options are available.
Key accountabilities include:
- Support daily technology maintenance execution activities across all critical underground equipment and networks.
- Positively influence the technology team culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
- Provide subject matter expertise to support teams to resolve priority issues.
- Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions
- Assist with training of other site personnel as required.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to potential value to the business
- Standardising and simplifying production systems including all critical controls ensuring zero safety, risk, volume, or cost impacts.
- Ensure disruption to operations resulting from network and communication system-based activities are minimised or eliminated.
- Resolve any technical queries from teams, projects and customers
About You
- You will either hold a degree with electrical/electronic background and are looking to kick of your career or started your career with a communications trade and wanting to further your career.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to a schedule and manage workloads to deliver key outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Background in Networks (industrial would be an advantage) and associated equipment and architecture.
- Ability to translate user and business requirements into secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure solution architecture solutions
- Assist with testing, deploying and commissioning quality technology infrastructure.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Be a team player that can build effective working relationships within your own team and external customers
