With a strong commitment to quality, safety, and team collaboration, we are expanding and looking for a skilled Workshop Supervisor to join our team.
Role description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Workshop Supervisor at Valmar Engineering in Paget, QLD. This role will be key in ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality standards in all workshop activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, workshop operations, team leadership, and safety practices.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day workshop activities, including scheduling, task assignments, and workflow management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a safety-first culture within the team.
- Maintain quality control over all workshop processes and ensure that work is completed to company and industry standards.
- Train, mentor, and support workshop team members to promote skill development and continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and functionality.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Interpret and work with fabrication drawings, providing guidance to the team on specifications and requirements for each project.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a workshop environment, ideally in a supervisory or lead role.
- Previous experience in Boilermaking and Fabricating.
- Strong knowledge of workshop operations, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Boilermaker certification or trade qualifications.
