About the Opportunity
As part of the Infrastructure Program, the Designer (Civil) will play a key role in providing design services to the Technical Services team. Under the direction of the Senior Design Drafter, Senior Landscape Architect, and Engineering team, this position contributes to achieving the City of Adelaide’s Strategic Plan outcomes.
The Designer (Civil) will be responsible for delivering professional drafting services to facilitate the capital works program, producing technical drawings for various projects including civil and stormwater infrastructure, landscape architecture, urban design, traffic and transport, roads, drainage, and footpaths.
In your role, you will be maintaining all revisions of project drawings and drafting logs, reviewing drawings for completeness and accuracy, and ensuring compliance with specifications and standards. Additionally, the Designer (Civil) will contribute to the development, drafting, and quality control of the Council’s standard detail suite, and work closely with designers, engineers, and other staff to ensure precise technical design documentation. Effective communication with project team staff, consultants, contractors, and other authorities is also a crucial aspect of this role. - Streetscape and laneway renewals and upgrades
- City and Park Lands Shared Paths and Bikeways
- Stormwater upgrade and renewal projects.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and producing accurate design drawings.
- Some demonstrated knowledge of 12D or Civil 3D
- Manual design and drafting skills.
- Knowledge of Australian drafting standards, building construction, practices and techniques
- Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office
