About The OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a rewarding opportunity to join us as a Commercial Manager supporting Aircraft Sustainment & Training. You will be working with our Commercial Function where you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the support of the Royal Australian Air Force by augmenting your experience and understanding of the commercial role, managing and delivering specific tasks and providing support to operations.

This role is open to our 9 day fortnight and hybrid work and based at our Williamtown NSW office.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting all contract activity including the drafting and negotiation of complex terms and conditions and associated agreements with customers ensuring the interests of BAE Systems Australia
- Ensuring that the business's financial and commercial exposures are addressed through appropriate commercial contract frameworks such as export controls, finance, product safety (including insurance) and intellectual property rights
- Contract interface with customers
- Responsibility for day to day management of contracts within employing commercial area of relevant BAE Systems Australia businesses
- Providing support to all Contract and Bid Status Reviews to justify, explain and clear ongoing commercial contract activities
- Responsible for preparation of negotiating strategies and contribute to negotiating teams
- Support to all commercial agreements to support team activity
- Draft moderately complex contracts / agreements with little supervision
About YOU
You'll have:
- A great deal of experience, knowledge and understanding of commercial skills and an understanding of commercial policy, principles and processes
- Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
- An ability to resolve complex problems that do not have routine solutions
- An ability to establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with Customers and Stakeholders at all levels
- An ability lead and guide a team or work independently with little supervision and guidance and using their own experience, judgement and initiative
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle is desirable
