Could you be our next Director – Asset Management?
This is one of those opportunities that epitomises the benefits of being a leader in a small, agile privately owned business. It’s why people leave the corporate world.
- Fast decisions with direct access to owners
- High impact role where you can put your own stamp on it
- Strategic input that is invited and expected
- An incentive scheme to share in the value you help create
Our current Director has done an incredible job setting up the asset management function here for the last 7 years. Unfortunately for us he is relocating, hence the replacement. You will be taking on a highly organised, well-led and performing team and we’re excited for you to put your own stamp on it.
About us
Established in 2016, Troon Group is a Melbourne based property development, management and investment company. We have firm links to H.Troon, a family-owned construction business operational for over 150 years.
Our ~20 assets are retail, industrial and self-storage facilities ranging from 2,500-60,000sqm each, based in metro Melbourne and regional Victorian locations including Cobram, Kilmore and Ballarat. We also manage two office assets on behalf of an institutional client.
Our tenants and customers appreciate our strategic lens, responsiveness and how we enable them to optimise their trade. We’re straightforward.
What you will be doing?
You will report to our MD and lead a small growing team with responsibility for the financial and operational management of our portfolio.
We value staying close to our customers and suppliers - it’s what gives us an edge. If not travelling to assets 1-2 days a week you'll be in our office in South Melbourne.
You will have the traditional Director level duties such as P&L responsibility, HR, acquisitions due diligence support and tenant account management. You'll also dive in to be very hands on. This is a hugely varied role with lots of balls to juggle and changing priorities.
Who are we looking for?
As an inhouse expert in all things property and asset management, we are looking for an individual with extensive hands on experience managing buildings. Leasing and valuation experience is advantageous, but it is not essential. We can teach you how to manage that. However we do need you to be proficient in building due diligence, maintenance management and future-proofing assets. A tech-inclined leader will suit us - we love efficiency and embrace progressive digital systems.
Our Director Asset Management should be someone who was a building-level technical expert who has evolved to lead a function and teams. Somebody who leads with positivity and enthusiasm to engage and inspire others. You'll thrive in this role if you are solutions oriented and confident in your decision making.
We’re eager to chat to individuals in agency or those already on the client-side who have experience managing commercial portfolios and leading property/facilities management teams.
