About Jacinth-Ambrosia
Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve – the Yellabina Regional Reserve – in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.
About The Role
An opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Project Manager to join Iluka’s sustaining capital project team. This position will be site based on a 4:3 or 8:6 roster.
The main objective of the Project Manager role is to provide site based leadership and management to the program of small to medium sized sustaining capital projects for the Jacinth-Ambrosia operation.
The focus of the role will be in establishing a sound rationale for a variety of projects and sustaining maintenance activities, ensuring they are delivered efficiently. You will manage a portfolio of projects and sustaining maintenance works, liaising closely with on-site operational teams and subject matter experts throughout the business to scope and execute projects.
This role requires an experienced and motivated individual that can work with a high level of autonomy and has capability through the full range of sustaining capital projects from business case and scope development through to management of engineering and construction contractors.
You will be accountable for the following:
- Manage the consolidated site sustaining capital projects for the mine operation and provide regular reporting to business requirements
- Assist the on-site operation stakeholders in the development of Project Initiation Applications (PIA) as part of project opportunity identification
- Development of individual project charters, project scopes, schedules and estimates to Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) framework requirements
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure project scoping, planning and execution can be quantified, scheduled and budgeted to achieve expected outcomes.
- Manage the projects to drive achieve successful outcomes, measured in terms of time, cost and quality
- Management of vendors, consultants and contractors to ensure conformity to business HSEC requirements and engineering / construction standards and procedures
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have
- Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or demonstrated industry experience
- Mining industry experience, predominantly in projects and with significant exposure to site construction, operations and maintenance
- Strong project team management of third-party vendors, consultants and contractors on resource projects
- Self-motivated and has the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Clear understanding of project, engineering and construction management
- Project controls experience within, estimating, scheduling, cost control and project reporting
