About the Company
This rapidly expanding Civil Construction Company is proud to be one of the leading civil and dam upgrade/remediation contractors in Australia. As head contractor for a recently awarded project in Wentworth Falls NSW, we are seeking a qualified Project Engineer for a 6 month position. Ongoing opportunities in Melbourne or Sydney available at the end of term.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for dealing with program, quality control, onsite safety, environmental compliance, and management of subcontractors. You will be expected to have an awareness of the commercial aspects for the project, to ensure maximum outcome. This role provides a great opportunity for career advancement through increased responsibility and opportunities to be involved in all aspects of the construction.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- The efficient and effective management of the commercial and contractual activities on the project.
- Effective and consistent implementation of the company’s commercial policies.
- Assisting in the preparation of request quotations for subcontractors and supply teams.
- Preparation of progress certificates for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Preparation and submission of monthly OHS/ENV/QA report to company executives.
- Monitoring compliance to program timelines and milestones.
Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role within the construction environment, ideally with 2+ years’ experience.
Skills, Qualifications and other Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Relevant experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar position
- Good understanding of earthmoving plant
- Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Work and Excel etc
- Previous experience in bulk earthworks, major waterways and dam upgrades beneficial but not essential
- First aid certificate (beneficial but not essential)
