The Role
The Site Manager/ Lead Carpenter will be employed by Sago Build and report directly to the Supervisor/Project Manager. This is primarily a hands-on role in progressing works in accordance with the project schedule, project documents but the role is also responsible for the day-to-day coordination of trades and management of all workers on the project site.
The Site Manager/ Lead Carpenter will carry out all physical tasks of building work in the execution of the project from demolition, excavation, concreting, erection of steel, cladding, linings, carpentry, fit out work, site care, site safety and protection of materials. As Lead Carpenter they will be leading the team onsite and executing high level of detail under pressure. This will be 70% of the role when managing one project and 40% of the role when managing multiple projects.
The Site Manager/ Lead Carpenter will be required to manage our site team whilst onsite, delegate tasks, oversee subcontractor works and material procurement whilst in communication with the supervisor and in reference to the site documents. They will ensure a high standard of safety, workmanship, professionalism and cleanliness from all workers onsite. This will be 30% of the role when managing one project and 60% of the role when managing multiple projects.
Sago Build is a small team and will at times require flexibility in this role. The Site Manager/ Lead Carpenter will be required to support other Leading hands and carpenters from time to time assuming the role as a carpenter in the progress of concurrent projects to which they are not directly apart. Sago Build expects professionalism and a collaborative approach to completing all work to the best quality result at all times.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
