As a talented Carpenter, you will be able to lead and guide a small team in this unique environment in working out in remote communities. You will predominantly be responsible for new builds and refurbishments/extensions in remote locations within the Northern Territory however at times, there may be the opportunity for urban work.
This is a DIDO position from Darwin and is 3:1 roster. Hours of work are Monday to Sunday 7am to 6pm. Accommodation is provided and a daily food allowance is paid for you to be able to cook your own meals.
Skills/competencies required:
- Proven experience working as a carpenter including being able to read/interpret technical drawings.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in timely delivery of projects including excellent programming and planning skills
- Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations
- Physical fitness with the ability to undertake manual handling activities.
- Ability to prioritise work in a busy environment under pressure and with multiple demands.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
Essential
- Obtain a satisfactory Criminal History check
- Working with Children Ochre Card or the ability to obtain
- Driver’s Licence (C Class minimum)
- Previous experience in construction industry
- Construction White Card
- Cert III in Carpentry
