Eku Energy is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our vibrant team. As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for development, design, contracting and delivery of our energy storage projects.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience.
Ideally based in Sydney, you will work closely with our dynamic team and report to multiple functional leads, including the Technical Lead and Delivery Lead. Operationally, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, contributing to our mission of driving the transition towards a low-carbon, sustainable global economy through innovative battery storage investments.

Responsibilities Of The Role
- Provide comprehensive support to project development and delivery management teams for the successful realisation of project assets
- Assist in early-stage project planning by providing technical inputs to the development and project delivery teams, including layout, geotechnical considerations, fire safety measures, and traffic management
- Act as a champion for health and safety within Eku, while also supporting WHSE (Work Health Safety Environment) initiatives at Delivery Partner sites
- Interface with the Owner's Engineer and Delivery Partner's design teams to support project design and construction activities
- Coordination of design reviews, risk assessments and project reporting
- Undertake regular site visits and report on project status, key issues and risks
- Review project control elements implemented by Delivery Partners, including project schedules, critical path analysis, progress dashboards, and monthly reports
- Evaluate Delivery Partner payment claims by assessing project progress
- Assist in the quality control and completion process through attending Owner's Engineer-led quality walkdowns
- Assist the project delivery team in social licensing efforts and engage with external stakeholders as required
Requirements
Competencies of the role
- Engineering qualification with 2-3 years of experience in relevant field
- Electrical Engineering coursework (RE, mechatronics etc.)
- Good understanding of electrical design principles
- Basic understanding of commercial and contract law - ability to review contracts from an engineering perspective and develop obligation registers
- Familiar with project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera)
- Competent with MS Office suite - excel reporting
- AutoCAD capability will be beneficial
- Ability to travel is important
