As an Assistant Engineer, you will provide planning, engineering, project management and/or site construction support for projects
ROLE
- Adhere to safety responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the safety management system.
- Provide engineering support to Project Management and/or Works Management teams on-site.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Aid Program Planners, Project Managers, and/or Project Engineers in the scoping, costing, and planning of project activities.
- Develop and maintain essential project documentation, such as safety and environmental plans, to support project execution.
- Engage in project risk management workshops and activities.
- Help evaluate tenders, ensuring thorough assessment of their technical merits.
- Conduct engineering checks and field measurements, presenting findings to support performance evaluations.
- Deliver timely and accurate reports on project status, risks, and issues to enable informed decision-making.
YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Track, Electrical, Operational Technology, Control Systems, Signalling) or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in project delivery and engineering, preferably within the rail sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proven experience in providing engineering support and adhering to quality standards in projects.
- Familiarity with project management processes, including estimating, scheduling, budget management, and reporting.
- Knowledge of Australian engineering and technical standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and safety compliance effectively.
