Vestas Australia has a fantastic role currently vacant for a Technical Planning Engineer to work within the renewable energy industry. The service operations team maintains a large number of Wind Farms across Australia and New Zealand.As a Technical Planning Engineer, you will provide the best technical solution proposal for turbine maintenance so each turbine can be repaired efficiently using relevant tools, spare parts and workforce as per internal Vestas' instructions. The Technical Planning Engineer is also involved in updating task Lists (continuous improvement), which enables scalable and efficient technical planning. Equally important, you are responsible for processing Work Orders (WO) technically and checking customers' entitlements, supported by contract mapping in the system.
This role can be undertaken by someone based close to one of our regional wind farms across Australia and New Zealand, or with a flexible location agreement.
Responsibilities - Define the WO context, specified and enriched with relevant technical information, guidelines for scheduler and service technicians if applicable which will allow the order to be planned and scheduled.
- Engage with technical support for complex jobs ensuing task list are appropriate for the works to be performed.
- Coordinate with Transactional Sales and other key stakeholders for Quoting (T&M)
- Identify Task list improvement opportunities and align with Technical Support the require update or task list creation.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree/Trade Certificate highly preferred in relevant field (i.e. Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Data Analytics)
- 2+ years of related experience within the wind industry
- Project management
- Coordinate work remotely.
- Establish safe standards of execution.
- Balance complex priorities
- Good experience in a technical service environment with a focus on planning & execution
- Good IT skills and experience with information processing in databases and planning tools
- Analytical and detailed working approach
- Self-organization and good time management
- Professional communication skills (including technical communication)
- Fair understanding of entitlement/commercial customer specifics
- Ability to read into technical documentation and drawings.
- Affinity to work according to processes and navigate in technical (commercial) related systems.
Competencies - Technical background with experience in Vestas's turbines. Experience using VOB and VGA
- Fair understanding of entitlement / commercial customer specifics.

- Structured and detailed working approach
