Job Description: Geoservices (a SLB company) is the industry leader in surface logging, focusing on drilling support and formation evaluation. Our portfolio of technologies and services deliver actionable information on reservoir fluid composition, lithology, well placement, reservoir connectivity, and compartmentalization to guide critical decisions for optimal drilling, completions, and ultimate recovery.
Geoservices is currently looking for experienced Sample Catchers, Mud Logger and Data Analysts.
Successful Position holders identify opportunities to improve service delivery, implement standard work, and manage risk during service delivery. This role monitors the well to provide timely and factual information to our customers; maintain sensors, equipment, and data acquisition equipment; and delivers high quality data to the customer at the wellsite.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Work in wellsite units collecting, processing, logging and describing rock samples
- Use various laboratory techniques to analyse samples
- Undertake on-site maintenance when necessary
- Take on the primary health and safety role for the well through constant monitoring of all critical drilling parameters
- Predict & Interpret situations, such as over-pressured formations
- Assist the wellsite geologist during coring operations
- Monitor computer recordings of drillings
- Interpret information and feed it back to the drilling team to enhance safety and success
- Operate and maintain a real-time computer-based data acquisition system, which records all aspects of rig activity
- Provide written reports to the data engineer, drilling team and company.
Qualifications and Experience: - Have the right to live and work in Australia without sponsorship.
- No travel restrictions and open to relocation in Australia based on company's requirement.
- Minimum BSc in Geology, Geological Applied Sciences, Earth Sciences or Applied Sciences, Diploma degree in Oil and Gas or related.
- Good personnel skills, excellent in communication, highly self-motivated, competent
- computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Can work in a high-pressure, learns quickly and adapts to new problems and situations.
- Must be a team player, able to get along with individuals from other groups in the organization, and a good communicator.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills essential.
- Must have minimum 3 years field and offshore experience as a Field Data Analyst.
- Knowledge of Mud Logging sensors.
- Ability to maintain, prepare and dispatch of equipment.
- Ability to maintain high quality of service delivery at the wellsite, in terms of safety, quality and efficiency of operation.
- Ability to run required services, supervise operations and managing people, interact with clients and other related parties.
