The Opportunity
Based at our Parramatta corporate support office and reporting to the General Counsel you will work closely with the Regional HR Advisors and branch Management teams, collaborate with stakeholders and deliver both operational and strategic HR solutions. As the leader of the National HR team, you will have an opportunity to make a substantial impact through your involvement in the following areas of responsibility:
- Develop and deliver HR strategy across all national branches through collaboration with the Executive leadership team.
- Lead the implementation of all HR improvement projects.
- Partner with Management to review and implement strategies to continually improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Support all management levels and employees with adherence to employment legislation and relevant awards; advice on benefits and grievance resolution.
- Manage and lead the payroll team to ensure that all scheduled requirements are delivered.
- Collaborate with the national recruitment team to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and develop high-calibre employees.
- Collaborate with the learning and development team to continue the development of the company’s training and career development framework.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team.
- Manage annual salary reviews and company bonus payments to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are appropriate and initiate change to reflect legislative and industry requirements as may be required.
- Collaborate with the workplace health and safety team to promote safety as a priority across the company and work on projects with common interest.
- Work closely with legal specialists to understand implication of new laws and ensure HR systems are compliant.
- Implement and continually refine the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy to meet the company’s objectives.
- Work with head office in Japan to discuss global initiatives and provide reporting as may be required from time to time.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have solid experience as an HR Manager in a medium to a large enterprise. You will possess strong business acumen and a dedicated ability to positively enable our people to be the best that they can be. You will need to have:
- An enthusiastic and nurturing team-based work ethic with an ability to lead the HR team across Australia.
- Strong partnership building capabilities with a broad range of business operators.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable IR laws and regulations impacting the same or similar industry.
- Appreciation of developments and trends in HR practices in the same or similar industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant formal qualifications in HR.
- Experience working in an industrial business is preferred.
- The ability to travel interstate.
