About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking and talented individual to take on the key role of Manager Commissioning across the Copper South Australia (CuSA) Major Projects Portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing professional to work with a range of senior stakeholders where your contribution will have significant impact on the business.
The role is based in Adelaide, reporting directly into the Director Technical CuSA Major Projects and will sit on the CuSA Technical Lead Team. The role will be responsible for commissioning performance and outcomes across all phases and projects within the portfolio. The role will provide leadership to a highly skilled and diverse team, focused on both the deliberate planning and safe and effective execution of Commissioning. This will include collaboration with Project Functions, external execution partners and Operational Teams, participation in project reviews and risk assessments, development and execution of project Commissioning strategies, assurance over process and outcomes and integration into construction, handover and ramp up. Travel between corporate offices and to site assets will be required.
The Manager will be the key driver for improved effectiveness and efficiency within our Commissioning strategies, providing leadership to our Owner’s Team resources and influencing our execution partners. As a leading contributor and key advisor, you will deliver on your accountabilities with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Key accountabilities will include:

Develop, manage and execute the project and portfolio level Commissioning strategies across the CuSA Major Project portfolio to balance risk and opportunity.

Engage, influence and collaborate with our external delivery partners to successfully execute the project and portfolio level Commissioning strategies including a drive for commissioning effectiveness and efficiency.

Establish, manage and develop the Owner’s Team Commissioning team to successfully execute the project and portfolio level Commissioning strategies and develop a high performing team.

Collaborate closely with Senior Project and Operational representatives to ensure the successful start-up and ramp up of projects into their hosting assets.

Manage change effectively and efficiently to strategically enhance the team’s performance.

Respectfully and professionally, influence stakeholders to drive optimised outcomes, including Operational, Maintenance, Engineering and Technology teams.

Work closely with the other project streams including Development, Delivery, Operational Readiness, Project Engineering and Quality to ensure portfolio synergies can be capitalised and lessons learnt leveraged.

About You
You will have 15 + years’ experience with tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a trade qualification with relevant experience in Project Management. With previous experience in a similar senior role you will have managed and developed teams and be confident in working within a complex environment. Leadership role within a major project (>$1B) is highly desirable.
As an experienced professional with a passion for guiding, developing and influencing teams and individual team members through mentoring and coaching you will bring strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to lead a team that delivers high performance.
