What’s on offer?
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, our Infrastructure Services business based at Perth Airport, is now seeking a suitably qualified Civil Engineer – Material Design. In this position you will conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses/experiments in our laboratory for quality and process control. You will develop new products and knowledge, provide solutions to technical issues by using strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ensure that safety and environmental risks are identified and controlled through documented processes.
Together with:
- Providing technical support to operations including reporting, technical advice, new technology and quality control analysis of data and records.
- Assisting to maintain laboratory accreditation and company’s research and development, technical support and manufacturing functions to meet budgeted financial performance.
- Obtaining samples of soil, aggregate, asphalt and concrete from the field and production plants.
- Performing compliance laboratory testing for samples of soil, aggregate, asphalt, concrete, emulsion as relevant.
- Designing and performing laboratory testing for mix designs/ blends to required specifications.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role and ideally within the construction/asphalt industry.
- Strong technical competence and understanding of required specifications.
- Relevant Engineering qualification(s).
- Acute analytical, reporting, and planning skills with sound attention to detail.
- Effective communication, time management and planning skills.
- Availability to work away from home as needed.
