What does a Mechanical Engineer in Buildings do?
Assists project team members in the design and documentation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems
Liaises with other discipline design team members
Carries out building heat load calculations, the basis for selecting mechanical services equipment
Sizes HVAC distribution systems and selects equipment
Provides input into briefs and reports, including sketches in Bluebeam
Schedules equipment and inputs into the project specification
Creates markups and schematics for our modelers to document
Attends meetings with senior team members
Attends site with senior team members to witness mechanical services installations
