As a result of our continued growth, with over $1.2 billion of work-in-hand and the aqcuistion of our brand new ground transport project at the Perth Airport, Georgiou have an immediate need for a Senior Project Engineer. The candidate will be part of a 50 strong Georgiou team based at the airport carrying out a total of $200M worth of work. The SPE will sit within the Building team, reporting to the Building Manager, and will be responsible for leading a team of 4 engineers on the 2,000 bay multi-story carpark.
What you're good at:
• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Engineer in a similar role within the commercial construction industry
• A working knowledge of implementing and monitoring project management plans
• Able to demonstrate daily productivity and cost control skills and prior forecasting experience
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and suppliers for site works
• Attends to the scope of work assigned with defined work methods and delivers the work in accordance with total project schedule.
• Prepares short term (4 weekly or as otherwise directed) look ahead programs, and provides input into the project schedule, status of works and reporting requirements.
• Measure and review productivity for assigned tasks and report formally to the project team and collaborate in driving any required changes
• Maintains and updates (or assists others to maintain) the contract program, including productivity units and ensuring the timely notification of EOT’s or Delay
Required Skills and Experience:
• Structures experience essential – reinforced concrete and PT
• Degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Able to demonstrate development and management of a number of subordinate engineers
• Able to demonstrate managerial acumen in areas such as Contract awareness and commercial control
• Excellent technical knowledge of all aspects of commercial building
• Demonstrate understanding of services requirements within commercial building (elec, Mech, hydraulics, dry/wet fire)
• Be comfortable presenting to large audiences (lots of stakeholder engagement)
• Experience working on large project would be advantageous
• Experience in coordinating and/or running tool box meetings, pre-start meetings, site inductions and a demonstrated commitment to HSEQ practices
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders concerns
• Experience of guiding and leading other engineers
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree
• Current experience working in a similar role
• Sound working knowledge of building works and services
• Demonstrated experience in managing / overseeing a project or an assigned section of a project
